Making Spirits Bright

Bethany Gelbrich, Emily Wright, Lara Guroff, Laurel Danielson, and Rachel Lozeau created an amazing tree to help fill the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital with holiday cheer. Most of the ornaments were made in-house, and the tree skirt is not just to decorate the tree, it can also be worn by the child. The team was inspired to make something pink, spectacular, and not just sparkly but super cool. The tree decorating effort was organized by J+J flooring, and many Portland firms participated, bringing their creativity and generosity to design some truly fantastic trees. Trees were delivered to the hospital and given to the children on December 11. Lara, from the SRG team, had the opportunity to hand-deliver the Barbie tree to a young girl.
